What to Expect with Winter Formal

For the past few years since the making of the Winter Formal Fundraiser, special dinners, tea parties and the main ball were easily accessible to everyone involved. Now, because of COVID-19, everything must be made with precaution.

A simple way to keep everyone safe is to wear a mask, just like everyone does everywhere you go. This was an easy first step to take for all members of this associations.

The theme for this year’s ball is Masquerade. Ironically, that perfectly goes with the theme of the year. Each princess is required to wear a masquerade mask as well as a face mask used for protection. So, a question is still floating aroundis makeup necessary? It ultimately depends on if you’re going to keep your masquerade mask on for the total time of the ball.

Girls usually spend hours on makeup, or they may even get their makeup done along with their hair. It seems to be a lot for outsiders who are not a part of the association but many girls see it as a tradition.

“I think I’ll just decide whether I’ll do my makeup on the day of because it’s too much to consider right now when it’s so far away,” said junior Elianna Flores.  “I feel like doing my whole face makeup would be a waste of time, because we’re not able to take off our face masks and then we’re going to have a masquerade mask on.”

This year, for most of the ball, many people are going to have their faces covered for the duration of the dance.
