A resolution for a new year, new you?

According to many articles and research, a large chunk of people don’t follow up with their new year’s resolution and the resolutions fail by February and one out of four people fail their resolutions within the first month of the year. This leaves only 9% of the population to follow through with their resolutions. I feel that if I ever fail something, like a resolution, I begin to feel bad about myself which then effects my mood for the rest of the year.

New Years resolutions are goals or promises to push oneself to become a better person mentally or physically. Popular resolutions are to get more organized or get in shape. These resolutions might not be accomplished for many reasons.

This year I started to think about how I could make my own new year’s resolutions and not feel like I had failed myself by not accomplishing them. I’m using the mentality that wishes don’t always to come true so instead of making actual “promises” I made wishes for 2023. Essentially, I came up with 13 things I wanted to work on in 2023. Thirteen because Taylor Swift’s favorite number is 13.

These fun little  wishes consist of becoming a better person physically and mentally. For example, I do not eat healthy at all; I may be skinny but that doesn’t excuse the food I eat. This year I plan on taking this seriously and preparing myself for what is to come in this new year.
