As spring break, the Rodeo, and summer all approach, more and more artists are announcing tours with stops in Texas. In April, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is coming to the Toyota Center, which sold out within hours. Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour is coming to the NRG Stadium late September, and the Houston Rodeo kicks off this weekend with artists like New Kids On The Block, Kenny Chesney, and Luke Bryan. While snatching tickets to these events are exhilarating, it’s important to be reminded of safety procedures and protocols for attending these large scale concerts.

Being prepared for your concert is essential to a successful night. Is the venue outdoors, what time do doors open, have you downloaded your tickets, do you have to pay for parking? Make sure to read everything about your event on the artist’s website or venue website. Sites such as Ticketmaster have “before-you-go” information that can help plan your concert night.

Some venues allow only clear bags of a certain size. Check the venue’s policies to see if this rule applies to your event. You can find clear bags at drug stores or Amazon. If you are sitting close to the stage, ear plugs are a good idea to protect yourself from hearing loss. Buy a bottle of water before the show starts, and listen to your body throughout the night.

If it is possible, always take a friend with you to these events. Never use the restroom by yourself, and park as close to the venue as possible. Be cautious of your surroundings, stay in large groups, and never set food or drinks down without supervision. All these tips should help your concert night go smooth and help you make amazing memories.
