Todd Hudson (11) has written himself into the legacy of Charger football.

On Friday, October 20, the Charger football team beat the Clear Falls Knights by a score of 69-27 at Challenger Columbia Stadium. Leading them to victory was Hudson with five touchdowns and 336 yards, a school record.

Hudson gave all the credit to his teammates. “The O-Line and receivers blocking were vital to the success of the game,” Hudson said. Hudson’s 336 rushing yards is the most in school history.

“It feels good to know that I can be a part of this school in the future” Hudson said.  The Chargers came into the game with a mindset to win and Hudson inspired his teammates to have no regrets.

“We just wanted to win,” Hudson said. A vital component to the Chargers success was Charger offensive lineman Garrett Nickelson.  The o-line knew they had to come harder before the game.

“The week before we were unprepared so, we knew we had to stick together.” Nickelson said. Although Hudson will have his name in the record books, the offensive lineman had a big hand in breaking the record.

“It felt awesome getting Todd the rushing record,” Nickelson said. It wasn’t just luck that they were able to gel well together. The O-line is known for being very close with each other.

“We’re super close, a lot closer than I would have expected,” Nickelson said. The Charger football team has made incredible progress this season and have written their name in Clear Springs history.
