Pappas Delta Blues Opens

Chris and Harris Pappas opened a new concept on November 1 named Delta Blues Smokehouse, located next to Pappas Seafood in Webster. The food offered is a mixture of Pappadeaux and Pappas BBQ.
This new concept is a big step for the Pappas company as they take new hires and employees from different Pappas restaurants and train them in different restaurants like Pappasito’s Cantina and Pappas Seafood.
“I know we are all from different teams, from different concepts, but here we come together, as a team, as a family,” Ryan Callard, general manager, said.
This past Sunday, November 9, Harris Pappas dropped by to see how the restaurant was doing during its mock opening. The employees there had to be on their A-game, since the boss was coming to town.
“Delta Blues is a special name from the Mississippi Delta and we got the blues since in that time in history they were playing lots of jazz and blues out in the streets,” Callard said.
The name of this restaurant is one of a kind and something that the Pappas franchise will expand in the future.
Everyone working there right now is the first generation of Delta Blues employees; they are the opening team that will make the name ‘Pappas Delta Blues’ popular.
“You guys are generation one, you are the first generation of Delta Blues Smokehouse. That means you set the stage, you guys all play a role in Pappas and if they decide to open more Delta Blues restaurant,” Callard said.
“Being the first generation, they were speaking about this at Getting Started meeting. It was really exciting, everyone there that day had such positive energy,” Melina Rodriguez (12) said.
“I’m very excited, I love the environment of the place it’s going to feel very family friendly. I think that Delta Blues is different from other restaurants; it’s very focused on teamwork,” Rodriguez said.
Pappas Delta Blues is now open for business.
