Handling Seasonal Stress
November 28, 2017
The holiday season can get really stressful, especially with semester exams coming up. Managing time is essential during the most hectic season of the year in order to keep stress down and energy of the season up.
During this season, focusing on spending time with family and staying on top of grades is important. Managing time is important to keep from getting stressed out.
“I manage family time and school time by spending time with my family while I do my homework. They help me with problems I don’t understand,” Haven Hawley (10) said.
The holidays are about spending time with family and sometimes it’s difficult to spend time with family and do homework or study for exams; having a schedule to manage the time available is important.
“The best tip I have is to get a planner and organize your time based on the due dates you have and get the assignments due first done and out of the way,” Hannah Pedersen (9) said.
Getting a planner is a quick and easy way to manage time and stay stress free. All the assignments are written down and the dates they are due are given; that way there is an idea of the assignment that needs to be done first.
“I am preparing for midterms by studying for the classes I struggle most in,” Hawley said.
Greatness can be achieved simply by getting ahead of the game. Semester exams are around the corner and preparing for them by studying rather than waiting until the last possible moment to cram is crucial. Studying 10 minutes a night over the material can be a good setup for success.
“I am thinking about my future instead of stressing right now because one day I am going to be really successful and not be worrying about how stressed when I was in high school,” Pedersen said.
Looking forward to the future is a good way to stay stress free. Instead of panicking now, manage time wisely and focus on the most important things that matter.
