The Speech and Debate team attended a tournament at Bay City High School this past weekend, making it their first overnight trip of the season this year. Six students attending were Erin Pritchard (11), Ally Boehning (11), Sydney Rose (11), Jessica Song (10), Sharil Maredia (10), and Ty Blankenship (9).

Pritchard and Boehning went to semi-finals in Public Forum debate; Boehning also received sixth place in Foreign Extemp.

“This overnight trip was a good way to bond as a team,” Boehning said. “and it felt pretty great to get more state points, making us halfway qualified.”

The next tournament this team plans to attend will be Dobie High School right after the holiday  break.
