The Clear Springs Dance Department teaches classes in Principles of Dance 1, Principles of Dance 2, Dance 3 and 4: Composition and Production, Advanced Dance 1-4, and the Silverados dance team.

Currently all of the dance classes are working on a choreography project, while the dance team is working on their contest pieces.

“Dance 1 has a more basic introduction to choreography project. Dance 2’s project is an object project where their dance moves are inspired by a non-living object. Dance 3, 4 and Advanced Dance have a similar project to Dance 1 with a longer piece and more advanced skills,” Dance Instructor Mrs. Kelsey Collins said.

Each of the dance classes is working on their projects which follow a different set of guidelines differing by class. Meanwhile the Silverados dance team is working on their dance pieces which they will show in the Spring when they go to compete.

“Throughout the classes, it is most important to focus on teaching technique, being active, gaining confidence, and having fun,” Collins said.

By teaching technique, injuries can be prevented and things can be done correctly throughout their projects.

As the semester concludes the dance classes are finishing up their pieces.
