SUW Makes Blankets

Members of Student United Way make blankets to help the homeless and other people in need.

“We are making blankets to bring down to the homeless when we go on December 23. We tie three sides so people can use them as sleeping bags or carry their belongings if they need to,” Student United Way sponsor Ms. Sara Peach said.

She said it’s good for the students to see their blankets being delivered.

“When you actually go out and give the blankets we made them, to see the joy on people’s faces, it is rewarding. Also, people fight over the blankets because they want to make sure they get one to stay warm, so it’s really eye opening,” Peach said.

“We’re going to be collecting coats from the coat drive. Also, if there are toys, we’re going to bring the toys down. We’ll be feeding the homeless at the same time, so blankets, coats, toys, and feeding the homeless,” Peach said.
