Varsity football players line up for the National Anthem at the game against Creek, which they won. Varsity will play Dawson in the first round of playoffs this Friday, November 18th.

With our last week’s win finishing off our district football season, the Springs football begins the post season playoffs. With only a week to prep for this make it or break it game, practices have become more crucial.

So what makes the postseason different?

Usually for regular season games, players would practice from Monday to Wednesday with full pads on, but in the case of playoffs coming up there is no longer full pad practices in order to keep injures out of the picture.

This time of year JV and even freshman football players will be pulled up to practice with varsity to run the other teams plays in order to be better prepared for the game. These players who are pulled up will also have the opportunity to be on the field for the game.

The players also become more familiar with their game plays and study harder for those. This requires them to come every morning before school to watch film from previous practices to see how they can improve.

Although the odds are against Springs in preparation to play Dawson, it will be a very interesting and exciting game. Come watch the game On Friday at 7 p.m. at The Rig to support your Chargers and watch how the game goes down.
