Spring Training

Spring Training

Chris Richnow, Staff Writer

Probably one of the more boring times of baseball season, must be the beginning of the season which is called spring training. This is the preseason of baseball. But there are a couple of things to look at like young talent, former stars, and just who to look for as a breakout player to come for the regular season. So far there have been a couple of stars that are going to continue to prove their worth from the name they created for themselves last season. Starting off with the previous year big star Fernando Tatis Jr. On the first day of spring training, Tatis hits a grand slam 447 feet which is an absolute bomb of a hit and is crazy distance for a homerun. There have been many more exciting moments in the past spring training. However, teams have getting the chance to play some teams that they usually don’t thanks to the grapefruit and cactus league, these are the two leagues that are all the MLB teams play in, kind of like the NL and AL however these teams are completely mixed up and which it’s fun to see matchups that never really happen in the actual season. For the Grapefruit league the teams include

Redsox

Twins

Pirates

Orioles

Marlins

Nationals

Rays

Braves
