January 31, 2022
The man, the myth, the legend, the bard himself, Bob Dylan sold his entire discography to Sony. Dylan’s over 60 years of music was sold for around 200 million dollars.
You may not have ever heard a Bob Dylan song, but maybe you’ve heard a cover of one of his songs, like “All Along the Watchtower ” covered by Jimi Hendrix or “Knockin’ on Heavens Door” covered by Guns N Roses.
Dylan is a true poet; he is regarded as the greatest songwriter by many, over his career he’s experimented with many different genres of music. Dylan started out with simple folk music, then helped pioneer the electric folk genre, actually the first time he came out to preform with an electric guitar in 1965 he was booed off stage, but with his album “Highway 61 Revisited” released the same year, fans came around to his side, and with his high pitched nasally singing, great lyrics, wailing guitars, and screaming harmonicas, he became a great inspiration to many, he had the admiration of none other than Jimi Hendrix, Hendrix saying “I really dig him, though. I like that Highway 61 Revisited album and especially ‘Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues‘!”
