Ranking Coffee Shops Near Clear Springs

Ranking+Coffee+Shops+Near+Clear+Springs

Hope Reiman, Staff Writer

This is a list of all the coffee shops I’ve been to in the area and where I rank them. I will say I have some bias, and this is purely my opinion so it may differ from yours and that’s okay! I may not mention some places in my list, and that’s because I’m only listing the places that I’ve personally been to.

7. Starbucks

This might be a controversial opinion but that won’t stop me from putting Starbucks at the bottom of my list. Starbucks isn’t bad, but they are far from good. I consider them the fast food of coffee. Sure, you could go to Starbucks and get okay coffee for more money, or you could go anywhere else and get good coffee for a possibly better price. No matter what, independently owned coffee shops are always going to be better than chain places.

My Favorite: Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew

6. Dunn Bros

Another possibly controversial one, but I do not like Dunn Bros. I’ve only been once, but what I got was disgusting. I couldn’t even finish the drink, and my friends have had similar experiences. I still think Dunn Bros is better than Starbucks, but barely.

My Favorite: Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha

5. Summer Moon

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Summer Moon, but from what I remember it was pretty okay. If I was choosing where to go, I would pick somewhere else, but if someone invited me to Summer Moon I’d go. I’m a little biased because their coffee is a little too bitter for me, but what I do like is good.

My Favorite: ¾ moon

4. Dunkin Donuts

In my opinion, this is the best “fast food” coffee place to go to. There are better places to go, but Dunkin is fast and good enough if you’re in a rush. From what I heard though, the quality of your coffee depends on the location you go to.

My Favorite: Cold brew with sweet cream

3. Black Rock

Though the price is a little steep, their coffee is good. I’ve been once with a couple of friends and we all loved what we got, not to mention the adorable building. It’s a great place to go if you have the money and you’re in the area since there’s a lot to do around the shop.

My Favorite: Carmel Blondie

2. Ugly Mugz

I will say I have a bit of a bias because I work here, but with great customer reviews, I know my opinion is fair. With dozens of latte flavors, macchiatos, and our famous chai tea, I’m proud to put Ugly Mugz as the second-best coffee in the area. The only thing holding us back right now is that we don’t offer frappes yet (hopefully soon though).

My Favorite: Iced White Chocolate Mocha

  1. Java Owl

Though it might be a bit of a drive for some, in my opinion, it is worth the drive. With the prices being good, and the coffee being excellent, it’s the perfect place to go for morning coffee. They have an amazing selection of coffees, and the owner has perfected his coffee recipes.
