Disney Dreamlight Valley is a one player video game available to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch users. Dream Light Valley is considered a life simulator where you live in a small world with some of Disney’s most well-known characters. The game was released for early access on September 6th, 2022 and the full game will be released in 2023. The game can be purchased in 3 different versions; Standard Edition, costing $29.99, Deluxe Edition, costing $49.99, and Ultimate Edition, costing $69.99. Each gives you special and exclusive items depending on which pack you buy.

When you load into the game, you are automatically given the chance to customize your character. Once done, before entering the game itself, it will give you the chance to name your avatar.

The game allows you to unlock some of the most iconic and most well-known Disney characters. The characters you automatically unlock are Merlin, Mickey, Goofy, and Scrooge McDuck. When you start to progress further into the game, you will be able to unlock many other characters like Remy (Ratatouille), Ursula (Little Mermaid), Kristoff (Frozen), Donald Duck (Mickey Mouse’s friend), Mother Gothel (Tangled), etc.

Your journey begins when you wake up in an unfamiliar world called, Dream Light Valley. Merlin, the wizard from Sword and the Stone, begins telling you about a curse that was placed after the original ruler mysteriously vanished. The curse that was placed is causing thorns to grow affecting the memories of your villagers. It is up to you to protect your valley’s residents and find out what happened to the original ruler.

After playing this game, I can say this is one of my favorite games to be released this year. I enjoyed unlocking new friends and finishing quests. Anyone who has enjoyed games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley should try this game out.
