A malignant software group has succeeded in hacking into many company’s systems, and Sony is their newest victim.
This sudden breach of Sony’s computer systems has caused serious alarm for the company and it’s users, as all their systems are compromised. Their security is hanging in the balance.
Although Sony was directly impacted by the hackers actions, these events have served as a heads-up for other major companies to stay vigilant for Ransomware groups looking to enter into their system.
This isn’t the first time Sony has been hacked. In fact, in 2011, Sony was hacked on a much larger scale. When their PlayStation Network experienced a massive breach and over 77 million accounts were revealed. Luckily, it was nothing near that magnitude this time. It appears that approximately 6,000 were stolen from all of Sony’s computer systems.
Sony released a statement assuring people that they are doing everything in their power to take control of the situation and to ensure the safety of everyone with in possession Sony products. No further comment was made.
However, Sony advised product users to be cautious, in case there is a possible breach; but they are confident they can fix it and will handle the situation accordingly.
