Whether you want to do princess and wild west or butterfly and FBI, you can always take part in the homecoming week themes. Clear Springs has a parade on the 11th of October and a carnival and game on the 13th of October to celebrate this year’s homecoming.
The first theme will be on Tuesday the 10th and is Rhyme without Reason. For this theme you are supposed to do it with friends and compare your rhymes with others. The second theme on Wednesday the 11th will be Barbie vs Ken where you can show off whether you are team Barbie or Ken by dressing up as any character you want. The third theme on the 12th will be throwback Thursday and you can dress as any past decade, and the final theme on Friday the 13th is color wars where each different grade will dress as a different color. For freshmen its gray, sophomore is black, junior is blue, and seniors are white.
On the 11th we will also be having the homecoming parade where different electives and clubs get to walk in a parade and toss candy out to the people on the sidelines watching. Then, on the 13th we will have the homecoming carnival where each ticket is 50 cents, and you can get two tickets for a dollar. We will also get the pep rally and game. The carnival will have fun games and events hosted by different clubs, electives, and sports. The carnival is a fun opportunity to earn money for the school, while also letting the students have important memories. That day, we will have a pep rally to get the students excited for the game. The game that night will be Clear Springs Chargers vs the Clear Lake Falcons at Challenger Columbia Stadium in Webster Texas.
Another usual homecoming thing to add is mums and garters. A good place to buy your mums, if you want to make it yourself, is Hobby Lobby because they have a variety of materials based off the school you are from. If you would rather buy one already made there’s places like H-E-B and Kroger, where you can also buy garters meant to be worn on the arm.
Unfortunately, there will not be a dance, but students can still decide to dress up and go out to eat and/or do something fun with friends. The places to get dresses recommended by students are Macy’s, Lucy in the Sky, and Hello Molly. Places recommended to get the theme outfits would be Target, Party city, Dollar Tree, and Amazon.
