Percy Jackson is a beloved book series for many, and most were extremely disappointed with the two movies that were made.  

The problem with the movies was: the actors were significantly older than their characters, being around their late teens early 20’s while in the books they were much younger.  The plot and main points in the story were changed. Writers did not take the time that was needed to correctly portray camp half blood and the relationship of Annabeth and Percy, along with the emotions and problems that came after the discovery at the end of book 1. 

The new TV series is being directed by the author of the books, rick Riordan. He oversees the show; thus, we should be getting what we missed in the movies. We will not get all the small details that we got from the books, but we should be getting a more book accurate version of our favorite characters.  

The episode list has come out and it appears that each season will be one book, and each episode will be a chapter (The first episode will be released on December 20th, 2023, and others are TBD), with that it is unclear if any other series will be made into a tv series, ex heroes of Olympus, trials of Apollo etc. Another question is the side stories, that being magnus chase and Percy’s adventures with the Kane’s, for now those questions have not been answered and will take time to see how the show is taken. 

With this redemption, I have no doubt that this series will be a hit for Disney.
