Award shows come with excitement, sadness, drama, and lots of surprises, and this year’s award season, 2024, has started off with a kick. The first show already passing being The Golden Globes on the 7th of January and the 13th is the Creative Arts Emmys, both were celebrating film and television. The Emmys were almost 4 months later than its original date being September 18, 2023, and it being held on January 15th, 2024.
On January 23rd, a list of the official Oscar nominees was released. You can view the whole list if you go to The New York Times, voting ends on February 22-27th.
On February 4th you can watch the Grammys Ceremony on Paramount plus and CBS at 7 pm with their host Trevor Noah. You can see the full nominees list, including SZA, Taylor Swift, and Barbie, on Entertainment Weekly.
On March 10th at 8 pm, the Oscars ceremony will be held with its host, Jimmy Kimmel, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Although, most details have not been mentioned, you can watch the ceremony on ABC.com and the ABC app, and other streaming services that have ABC including Hulu Live TV, Fubo TV, YouTube TV, and AT&T TV. The movie leading the nomination is Oppenheimer with 13 nominees and Poor Things with 11.
From May 14th-25th the 77th Cannes Film Festival is being held for 2 weeks in the town of Cannes on the Côte d’Azur featuring filmmakers, actors, producers, distributors, and credits coming together to celebrate international cinema from all over the world.
