After Donald Trump halted foreign aid on the first day of his second term in office, there are 30,000 tons of food just left sitting in the Port of Houston.
The food had been purchased through a federal program to help feed starving people overseas but is currently stuck sitting there are Trumps 90-day pause of foreign aid and the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, claiming that it was fraud and is attempting to have them shut down.
Trump is currently trying to put USAID workers on leave and operations are currently not happening, meaning that the food is going nowhere because of the lack of organization. There is an estimated $450 million dollars going to waste.
The Port of Houston, and the tons of food, are only 15 miles away from Clear Springs High School.
