Are you a chicken or are you a jockey? Or are you a Chicken Jockey? “A Minecraft Movie” released in theaters on April 4, earning $163 million in the box office and over $300 worldwide.  This movie set a record for the highest-opening video game adaptation surpassing “The Super Mario Movie” which was released April 5th, 2023. The movie consists of Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers and Sebastian Hansen. For people who don’t know, this movie takes inspiration from a popular video game created by Mojang Studios in 2009.  

As of April 9, “The Minecraft movie sits at a 48% on the tomato meter and an 88% on the popcorn meter. Unfortunately, because of the “Minecraft Movie” theaters have had several problems with the younger audience. Videos from all over social media show people shouting and throwing popcorn during certain moments in the movie. Because of this Cinemas have warned audience members that they will remove them from the theater if they take part in the trend “No mess please, just good clean fun” said in a Cineworld statement.  

McDonalds also introduced a collaboration with “The Minecraft Movie”. Fans will be able to purchase the happy meal up until May 6 and the Happy Meal includes either a Big Mac or 10-Piece McNuggets, as well as a dipping sauce called Nether Flame Sauce. Additionally, it comes with six unique collectibles that features a card and a special code that fans can use in the game to wear a special skin.
