As always, our theater program put on an amazing show. Addams Family was a fantastic musical filled with perfectly timed comedy and sarcasm. The casting was outstanding; every character was played with precision to their personality and actions.
In the story Wednesday is getting married to Lucis, but they must tell their families. The couple decided to tell them after dinner, but this takes a turn and explores the themes of growing up, adulting, love, and change.
Gomez, played by Ethan Trana, was done to perfection; his accent and the way he brought in the crowd were great. Morticia, played by Charlie Jordan, was done amazingly, the way she presented herself and her personality was spot on. Fester, played by Austin Green, a crowd favorite, while his scenes were hilarious and out of pocket, his portrayal of the character was also spot on. And one last shouted out to Isabella Fontanze for her spectacular vocal performance of Alice Beineke, leaving the audience taken away. While this highlights just a few of the characters, all were done great.
The set design was impressive. Creating moving stairs for different sets, a whole upstairs to the Addams house, and the inside outside use of the stairs was spectacular. A huge respect goes to the set designer and their crew.
If you have never seen a Charger Theater production, you are missing out. They put on amazing shows that capture the audience’s humor and heart. Addams Family keeps on that legacy and was no short of stunning.
