2025 was a year of many trends. Some funny, some silly. From memes to fashion, here are some of the most popular trends of the year.
“67” … Now everybody knows this meme, it’s everywhere. It’s probably the biggest meme of the year. “67” is used by thousands of people daily, inspired by the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla, it had gained popularity from LaMelo Ball. All around the world, kids started shouting “67” with the paired hand movement, confusing adults. Even as new memes appeared, “67” stayed a daily part of online humor worldwide.
As the year went on, “67” stayed popular, but many other memes and fashion trends came into the loop. One of the trendiest fashion styles is baggy jeans and jorts. This outfit choice came back from the 2000s, just like low rise flared jeans. Cheetah and leopard print also made a comeback, often paired with black jeans or denim skirts.
Movies and shows had big moments too. “Stranger Things” climbed to the #1 spot on Netflix globally as the final season was released in three parts. Other hits included “Zootopia 2,” “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” and “Wicked: For Good.”
Food, drinks, and lifestyle trends also exploded in popularity. Dubai chocolate dominated TikTok for months as influencers hyped it up. Quarter-zips and matcha continued to trend, especially among audiences who liked aesthetic or “performative” routines.
Honorable mentions include Labubus, which became a “must-have” collectible for many people. Another extremely popular term this year was “Unc,” used jokingly to call someone old.
As the year comes to an end, what future trends will come up? What trends will stay around? What fashion might resurge from the past?
