The 98th Academy Awards, or the Oscars, took place on March 15, celebrating the best films released in 2025. Hosted by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the ceremony honored achievements across 24 categories in film making.
Among the nights top winners, Michael B. Jordan earned Best Actor for his role in “Sinners,” while Jessie Buckley received Best Actress for “Hamnet.” Supporting acting awards went to Sean Penn for “One Battle After Another” and Amy Madigan for “Weapons”.
The film “One Battle After Another” dominated the ceremony, winning Best Picture along with awards for directing, film, editing, and adapted screenplay. Meanwhile, “Sinners” also saw major success, earning awards for original score and original screenplay.
In other categories, “K-Pop Demon Hunters” won Best Animated Feature, while ※Frankenstein§ took home multiple technical awards, including costume design and makeup and hairstyling. “Avatar: Fire and Ash” won for visual effects and “F1” received the award for sound.
