Track Teams Compete at Local Meets

Girls’ Track
At the Clear Lake Varsity Invitational, Kenadee Poye placed 1st in the triple and long jump. Ashley Villanueva set a new school record in the pole vault in 2nd place clearing 12 feet and 3 inches. The 4×100 meter Relay team of Arielle Roberts, Sy’mone Siverand, Kenadee Poye, and Jazz’mon Anderson also placed 2nd. Hannah Ameiva placed 3rd in the 1600 meter run, Ashton Villanueva placed 3rd in the pole vault, and the 4×200 meter relay team of Arielle Roberts, Sy’mone Siverand, Morgan Guillory, and Marrik Petrillo placed 3rd. The 4×400 meter relay team of Marrik Petrillo, Morgan Guillory, Armani Felton, and Jazz’mon Anderson also placed 3rd at the Clear Lake meet.

The Junior Varsity girls track team placed 1st overall at the Clear Falls Invitational. First place finishes included Chloe Ferrer (100 hurdles), Lauren Hinojosa (300 hurdles), Brianna Kouba (pole vault), Ashlynn Young-Weaver (200 meter dash),  the 4×100 meter relay (Dana Williams, Ameire Bordelon, Tatum Estrada, and Ashlynn Young-Weaver), and the 4×400 meter relay (Julia Westfahl, Vennila Satheesh, Tatum Estrada, and Muskan Swati).  Second place finishes included Bailey Ray (pole vault) and the 4×200 meter relay team (Dana Williams, Ameire Bordelon, Tatum Estrada, and Ashlynn Young-Weaver). Third place finishes included Tatum Estrada (high jump), Tiffany Bahn (long jump), and Macie Alston (pole vault).

Boys’ Track
The boys track team finished with a close second place at the Clear Lake Invitational on Friday. Top three finishers for the meet included Devin Johnson (1st Place 100m, 2nd Place 200m), Christian Waller (2nd Place 100m), Kirk Collins (1st Place 110m hurdles), Elijah Jean (3rd Place Long Jump), Peyton Sawyer (2nd Place 110m hurdles), Austin Stockdale (3rd Place Pole Vault) and Matthew Zamarripa (3rd Place 300m hurdles). All three relay teams finished on the medal stand with the 4x100m relay winning first place, the 4x200m relay finishing 3rd, and the 4x400m relay finishing second. The Chargers will be at the Ruben C. Jordan Classic on Friday, March 9.
