AP Statistics teacher, Jose “Alex” Maldonado is now running for Democrat District Clerk for Harris County.
Maldonado is a Rice Alumni and Industrial Engineering student at the University of Houston.
According to his website, Alex Maldonado for District Clerk, “[He] is running to bring more data-driven leadership and operational efficiency to the Harris County District Clerks Office.”
He plans on advocating to increase jury duty pay, prioritize user friendly, accessible technology, financial accountability, and to serve our community with integrity, efficiency, and respect.
Most decisions are made by the local and state governments, they happen at the lowest level of government, and most people don’t even think about them. “So don’t just consider voting for the president, but every race, especially the smallest ones,” Maldonado said.
